Parcelforce Tracking

Parcel Force

The system is called PMS (Parcel force Management System). This works in conjunction with mainframe systems called HALCON (for GB parcels) and INTERTRAK (for international parcels).

Each parcel has a unique consignment number, which also appears as a barcode on the parcel for tracking purposes.

All express parcels are tracked in and out by scanning the barcode at each depot handling them, if there are any known delays such as breakdown or bad weather this information can also be entered as an "incident" by the tracking depot. If a parcel or consignment is missing or delayed, Customer Services log all enquiries made and action taken the PMS system.

Posting details including sender, addressee, service used, weight, number of parcels in consignment etc are entered by the Collection Depot, except in the case of large contract customers who enter the details themselves into the Parcelforce software which is downloaded into the PMS system.

Signatures are obtained for all Express Parcels and the delivery details are entered on the system by the Delivery Office. This includes the date, time of delivery, the number of parcels delivered, and the name of the person who signed for the parcel.

If the deliver attempt of a parcel or consignment is unsuccessful the Delivery Office enters the date and attempted delivery into RPMS (Returned Parcelforce Management System), and incidents HALCON accordingly.

Isle Of Man Parcelforce can access all tracking and incident details available at any given time, and if the item has been delivered can give verbal confirmation of delivery. Telephone 698466.

Parcelforce Worldwide internet site also has tracking, the screen will show the parcel's progress and if it has been delivered, the date and time of arrival and who signed for it. (www.parcelforce.com).

Written proof of delivery can be obtained by calling the Isle Of Man Parcelforce on 698466 or by fax on 698464. This facility is available for up to 6 months after posting and a charge of £2 per request applies.
