Pricing in Proportion

Isle of Man Post Office introduced a new pricing structure , Pricing in Proportion, in August 2006, to move in line with changes Royal Mail made.

Pricing in Proportion prices mail on the basis of its size as well as its weight. It's a fairer system as customers now pay a price that more closely reflects what it costs to handle and deliver an item of mail. The pricing structure is also much simpler and is split into three categories - Letters, Large Letters and Packets.

For the majority of Customers, the new system has made little difference as more than 90% of mail currently posted falls into the "letter" category. The price of sending a "letter" currently remains at 30p for local delivery and 31p for delivery to the UK and Channel Islands.
