The Manx Transport Heritage Museum

The Manx Transport Heritage Museum is situated in Mill Road, Peel. The small building was formerly the office of the Peel Brickworks, which was demolished to make space for the new power station. The office was not demolished and lay derelict for years until volunteers from the Museum restored the building. It now houses a comprehensive library, a shop with mementos of transport, posters, postcards, railway and Steam Packet tickets, videos, and back copies of their quarterly magazine NewsRound, which is sent free to members.

The Murray’s Motorcycle Museum

Since 1953, when the family moved to their Santon home, Charlie and his son Peter Murray collected motorcycles and memorabilia. The Museum, with its remarkable collection of rare and vintage machines dating back to the 1890s is a densely-displayed treasure trove packed with machines of every era and variety complemented by countless photos and publications. The Museum became a world-famous motorcycle tourist landmark in the 1970s when located at The Bungalow on the TT course. This ever-evolving personal collection has returned to Santon and can be found near the famous Fairy Bridge.
