This year's ICE was a cool event for the Isle of Man Post Office

Isle of Man Post Office attended ICE Totally Gaming 2014 (ICE) held at Excel from the 4th to 6th of February. It joined a number of other Isle of Man based businesses in attending, including the Department of Economic Development and other representatives from the Isle of Man's eGaming sector. The Post Office met with existing and prospective clients and took in the latest technology and advances in the industry.

ICE is the biggest annual eGaming event in the industry calendar and this year a record breaking 23,891 eGaming industry professionals attended, despite the 48 hour London tube strike action that defied attendance. This sets a new record attendance at ICE and shows a 7% increase on 2013 and 12% uplift on 2012 where the event was held at Earls Court. This year 503 companies exhibited and occupied a 55,000 sqm space at Excel.

ICE is an important event for the Post Office as it enables it to stay abreast of key industry developments and trends, for instance mobile and tablet developments, the latest legislation and regulation and the most specific to the business' offering, opportunities for direct mail.

Direct mail remains one of the most effective tried and tested methods of marketing for player acquisition, retention and re-activation and recent research carried out into consumers attitudes revealed that 79% of consumers act on a piece of direct mail immediately, which further demonstrates the power of this medium.

The Post Office's Secure Direct Mail division offers the complete direct mail service with one point of contact throughout the entire process, from client brief and design through to instant despatch into global mail streams and returns management. Alternatively clients have the option to cherry pick from its range of services (data verification and cleansing, returns management, response handling, mail-merge, full print for direct mail onto a variety of formats (including specialised print and envelope design print), envelopment and instant despatch into global mail streams). To add to this, toward the end of 2013 the business launched a new mobile offering that integrates with its direct mail via a QR code or SMS text to attract players using mobile scratchcards and games. Both its mobile and direct mail solutions are created bespoke to each individual clients requirements.

Niall Carey, Commercial Manager of Isle of Man Post Office commented on the event: "Myself and the account team representatives had a fantastic time at this year's ICE. It was a really productive event and therefore a proven success for yet another year. The show was very busy and I found myself in back to back meetings the entire time. Myself and the team met with a number of existing clients from across the globe, but we also had a lot of prospective appointments all of which went very well so we look forward to following up on those meetings also."
