Integrated Mailing Solutions (IMS) successfully transitions to new revised information security management standard ISO/IEC 27001:2013

The Integrated Mailing Solutions division (IMS) of Isle of Man Post Office is pleased to announce that it has successfully updated its Information Security Management accreditation transition from ISO/IEC 27001:2005 to the new revised ISO/IEC 27001: 2013 standard, following an audit by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) in January.

The Information Security Standard which is awarded by the International Organisation for Standardisation and the International Electrotechnical Commission is the highest global standard in the field of data and information technology and is gained following an extensive audit process that assesses the organisations performance.

The accrediting body LRQA recently conducted a thorough and rigorous audit of IMS, its staff and systems to ensure it had the procedures and processes in place to comply with the new revised standard. The global security standard is awarded to all the services which IMS provides, including mail opening, scanning, data capture, printing, fulfilment, franking and stationery supply.

Over the years IMS has established itself as a successful one stop mailing house and has seen its client base grow not only on Island but also worldwide.

Peter Cropper, Isle of Man Post Office Operations Director said: "I am delighted that we have successfully transitioned to the new ISO/IEC 27001: 2013 security standard. Having this accreditation is important to our clients who choose us because we adhere to this internationally recognised standard for information security along with the quality management standard ISO/IEC9001:2008 which we also hold."

"Achievement of the latest Information Security Management ISO accreditation is as a result of the dedicated focus of our IMS team in establishing and maintaining robust and auditable processes within the business."
