Isle of Man Post Office prepares for next week's autumn Stampex 2016

Representatives for the Isle of Man Post Office's stamps and coins team are getting ready to attend and exhibit at this year's autumn Stampex, the UK's largest philatelic show, held from 14 - 17 September in London at the Business Design Centre.

Stampex is a well-established twice yearly stamp show organised by the Philatelic Traders Society (PTS) and the September show will continue to celebrate the event's 60th Anniversary.

This year's event promises a list of over 100 exhibitors with something for every type of collector and trade customer as well as those interested in coins, postal history and other related memorabilia and for the younger stamp collector, Stamp Active, the voluntary group will be promoting stamp collecting to children and encouraging visitors to bring a child to the show.

At the autumn show, Isle of Man Post Office will have some of its most exciting stamp collections including, '100 years of general relativity', that marks Professor Albert Einstein's general theory of relativity and the work of theoretical physicist Professor Stephen Hawking, 'Aardman - 40 Years of Creativity', celebrating the internationally treasured work of Aardman Studios and 'Islands and Bridges', a fascinating collection featuring the amazingly varied work of Roger Dean. To add to this, it will have on display its latest coins collection including 'Isle of Man 2016 TT Legends' 50p coin, 'Penny Black Crown gift pack' and 'Havana Brown cat Crown'.

Maxine Cannon, General Manager of Isle of Man Stamps and Coins said: "We are looking forward to attending and exhibiting at this year's autumn Stampex. The show provides us with the perfect opportunity to promote our latest stamp and coin collectables to new and existing customers, and catch up with key contacts who attend from across the globe."
