Isle of Man Stamps and Coins representatives prepare for Spring Stampex 2015

Representatives of Isle of Man Stamps and Coins are getting ready to attend this year's Spring Stampex, one of the UK's largest stamp shows, held from 18 - 21 February in London at the Business Design Centre.

Stampex is a well-established twice yearly stamp show organised by the Philatelic Traders Society (PTS), and one which Isle of Man Stamps and Coins has attended for some time now. This year's convention promises a list of over 100 exhibitors with something for every type of collector and trade customer as well as anyone interested in postal history and other related items. For the younger stamp collector, Stamp Active, the voluntary group that promotes stamp collecting to children and encourages visitors to bring a child to Stampex, will be running a treasure hunt. Any child that comes to Isle of Man Stamps and Coins stand 63 during the show can pick up a clue plus a pack of stamps for their "Brilliant Britain" activity books which will be given free to all young collectors at the show.

At the 2015 show, Isle of Man Stamps and Coins will have some of its most anticipated stamp collections including, Chinese Year of the Sheep, Winston Churchill – Death of a Hero, Archibald Knox Celtic Style and Red Arrows 50th Display Season – stamps and DVD postal tribute, in addition to newest releases WW1 Battle Fronts and Penny Black stamps issued on February 17.

To add to this, a competition which will see one lucky collector win an original used Penny Black stamp catalogued at £500, and others the chance to win a range of fantastic prizes all courtesy of Isle of Man Stamps and Coins will launch at a press conference on February 19 from the Stanley Gibbons stand 101 at Stampex. Entry to the competition is by either completing the form at the Isle of Man Stamps and Coins stand 63 or Stanley Gibbons stand 101 at Stampex. Alternatively, enter online iomstamps.com or by completing the form in Gibbons Stamps Monthly magazine. The competition closes May 31, 2015.

Maxine Cannon, General Manager of Isle of Man Stamps and Coins said: "Our presence at this year's Spring Stampex will enable us to promote our current and newest stamp collections released February 17 - WW1 Battle Fronts and the 175th Anniversary of the Penny Black, to existing and prospective collectors and trade customers who attend the show from around the world."

"Isle of Man Stamps and Coins have attended Stampex for a number of years now and it has proved extremely valuable to the business, we are confident that this year's show will be equally worthwhile and look forward to attending."
