The Treasury have advised that pensions and allowances due for payment on Monday 29th August can be collected on Friday 26th August.

The Social Security division of Treasury has advised that pensions and allowances due for payment on Monday 29th August can be collected on Friday 26th August 2022.

IOMPO would also like to remind its customers that planned strike action in the UK by the Communication Workers Union (CWU), that represents postal workers employed by Royal Mail, is due to take place over four working days in the coming weeks, (Friday 26th and Wednesday 31st August as well as Thursday 8th and Friday 9th September) which will impact the postal service to and from the Island.

Whilst Royal Mail have advised that they have plans in place to minimise the disruption, IOMPO recommends all customers post earlier than planned both, before and in the days following these dates. IOMPO will be suspending all time guaranteed services on each of the strike days due to the disruption expected in the UK. IOMPO has set up a website for updates regarding the Royal Mail Strike Action: www.iompost.com/royalmailstrike. For regular service updates IOMPO recommends customers to visit www.iompost.com/service-updates and sign up to the Service Disruption email list. Regular updates will also be provided via our social media channels and up to date information will be available at all post offices when customers post their items of mail.

IOMPO wishes to apologise for the inconvenience this may cause its customers. IOMPO and its postal workers are not involved in the strike action and the disruption to our own customers is outside of our control. IOMPO will see disruption in the arrival of mail scheduled for the Island but will ensure mail is delivered as soon as possible when it is received here on the Island. All deliveries IOMPO undertakes for other delivery partners will not be affected and will continue as normal.

With the Manx Grand Prix (MGP) Qualifying Sessions starting on 21st August, there is a substantial increase in traffic volume on the Island’s roads during the MGP and this inevitably leads to some disruption and delay to normal delivery and collection times. However, Isle of Man Post Office will do all possible to minimise the disruption to its customers.

On days where roads are closed, we regret that we will be unable to deliver to addresses on the course or where access is only available via the course. Normal delivery times and collections may vary throughout the MGP, especially in rural areas.

IOMPO’s self-service postal kiosks located across the Island are also available for the purchase of postage, posting letters and parcels and paying utility bills. IOMPO would also like to remind customers that postage stamps are available to buy online on our website with a free doorstep delivery service: www.iompost.com/postal-shop.

-Ends-
