Isle of Man Post Office Features Manx Waterfalls on new Stamp Collection

Isle of Man Post Office (IOMPO) is pleased to present a collection of six stamps featuring the natural beauty of the Island’s glens and their waterfalls. There are eighteen mountain and coastal national glens across the Island which have been preserved and maintained in a semi-natural state by Isle of Man Government, specifically by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture. They are open to the public throughout the year and are much loved attractions for both locals and tourists. Manx-born artist Tracey Dean painted the original paintings and designed this stunning stamp collection to be issued 12 April 2023. The paintings will also be part of a new book ‘The Magic of the Manx Glens’ written by the issue text author Susan Jellis, which will be published on 18 April 2023. The profits of the book will be donated to Manx charity Disability Networks and design and printing have been funded by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture and Visit IOM.

Artist Tracey Dean said “I was delighted that Isle of Man Post Office has asked me to provide my paintings for yet another stamp collection. It fills me with immense pride and knowing that the images will also be used in Susan’s book is just the icing on the cake.”

Susan Jellis, Issue Text Author said: "I’m so pleased that we were able to collaborate with Tracey and Isle of Man Post Office to include these stunning paintings in my book. I am very grateful for all the support I have received from DEFA, Visit IOM, Isle of Man Post Office and all the voluntary contributors to help this book come to life and I am delighted to be able to donate the proceeds of the book to Manx charity Disability Networks.”

Clare Barber MHK, Minister for Environment, Food and Agriculture said: “This collection, and the original paintings, are a superb celebration of our stunning natural environment, captured expertly by Tracey. We’re really pleased to have been able to support Susan’s book, following a request from Disability Networks, which celebrates the wild beauty and spirit of some of the Island’s best loved waterfalls and glens, and honours the work of DEFA officers in maintaining access to them now and in the future.”

Maxine Cannon, General Manager Isle of Man Stamps & Coins said: “Working across various Government Departments on a wonderful project like this is fantastic to witness and we are delighted that our beautiful stamps will also be featured in Susan’s book.”

The set consists of six individual stamps valued at 80p, 128p (2 stamps), 151p, 231p and 272p and is available as Set, Presentation Pack (limited 1100) and a First Day Cover (limited 1500). To see the full collection visit www.iompost.com/Waterfalls.
