Isle of Man Post Office announces details of 2015/16 postage rates

Isle of Man Post Office has announced details of its 2015/16 postage prices which will come into effect on Tuesday 5th May 2015, however the Isle of Man's postage prices continue to be some of the cheapest in Europe.

The price of a standard letter to the UK and Isle of Man will increase by 2p to 44p.

Isle of Man Post Office will continue to offer family and friends a free postage service to any British Forces Post Office address free of charge when sending standard letters and packets of up to 2kg.

The flagship Special Delivery service to the UK will increase by a modest 1% on most of its price bands with Special Delivery to Isle of Man addresses increasing by approximately 2%.

International services continue to be adjusted to pricing based on format, which matches the way mail to the UK and Isle of Man is charged. This change introduces a new large letter format with a first stage weight allowance of 100g. Other international charges have been adjusted to match Isle of Man Post Office's international commercial agreements.

As a result, the costs of International Tracked, International Signed For and International Tracked and Signed For will be significantly reduced compared with 2014 prices aside from the first weight step which will increase by 2.4%.

To add to this, ancillary services such as Keepsafe, Redirection, Private boxes business and residential, single collection fees and door to door, are all increased by approximately 2.4%.

Finally, parcel prices to all destinations have not been increased and will be held for a further year.

These price changes are determined by operational costs, changes in prices by our commercial partners and mail volumes handled.
