Post Office Announce its Bank Holiday Operations for August 2023

Isle of Man Post Office (IOMPO) would like to announce the following operational changes for the August Bank Holiday which are also available on their website www.iompost.com/bankholiday:

Bank holiday Monday in August will have no deliveries and no collections. All post offices will be closed unless stated otherwise. All independent parcel collection sites (for items where customers have received a notice left card) will operate their usual opening hours unless stated otherwise. On Tuesday 29th August no airmail will arrive on Island and the next dispatch of mail via airplane to the UK will take place on Tuesday evening. Local deliveries take place as normal on Tuesday morning after Bank holiday Monday.

The Treasury have further advised that pensions and allowances due for payment on bank holiday Monday 28th August can be collected the previous Friday, 25th August.

During the Manx Grand Prix period (20th August – 28th August) there is an increase in traffic volume on the Island’s roads and this may lead to some delays to normal delivery and collection times. However, IOMPO will do all possible to minimise the disruption to its customers. Most road closures are scheduled to take place after 6pm and therefore should not impact deliveries by IOMPO.

On Friday 25th August roads close at 12:30pm and Saturday 26th August roads are scheduled to close at 11am which will impact deliveries. In these instances IOMPO will try to deliver as early as possible. Should delivery be impossible due to road closures, IOMPO regret to be unable to deliver to addresses on the course or where access is only available via the course and will deliver these items at its earliest opportunity.

IOMPO’s self-service postal kiosks located across the Island are also available for the purchase of postage, posting letters and parcels, paying utility bills and Isle of Man Government rents and rates. IOMPO would also like to remind customers that postage stamps are available to buy online on their website with a free doorstep delivery service: www.iompost.com/postal-shop.
