Post Office Board Notes the Resignation of its Vice Chairman

The Board of Isle of Man Post Office (IOMPO) notes that Tanya August-Hanson MLC has tendered her resignation from the role as Vice Chairman.

While IOMPO wishes to thank Ms August-Hanson for her service, the Board strongly believes, contrary to her resignation statement, that its retail strategy and the rollout are very much aligned. IOMPO is following a clear path on its transformation journey, which has been approved and supported by Tynwald including Ms August-Hanson.

IOMPO provides services under contract for various public and private sector organisations such as for the Social Security Division of Treasury for MiCard, throughout its Island-wide retail network. IOMPO consults appropriately to ensure it continues to deliver the service and standard requirements of its commercial customers, prior to making any decision to change services - a process which has been followed throughout Ms August-Hanson’s tenure as Vice Chairman.

IOMPO is committed to ensuring postal services are retained in the communities which make up Island life, while ensuring they are provided in a financially and socially responsible manner. Customer demand is a significant factor in the retail strategy in deciding how and where services will be provided in the future.
