Post Office helps send parcel of Isle of Man football kits to children in Tanzania

A parcel of donated Isle of Man football kits have been distributed to children in Tanzania, Africa, with the assistance of Isle of Man Post Office's Sponsorship Committee.

Island based, Mathew Aire, who required support in sending the 20kg parcel of items from the Isle of Man to Tanzania charity, Sports Charity Mwanza, contacted the Post Office for assistance, to which the committee was pleased to help.

Sports Charity Mwanza, Tanzania is responsible for building sports centres and initiating organised sports clubs in Mwanza, so that more people of all ages can participate in sports regularly. The charity's goal is to create a sustainable sports infrastructure for people of all ages in Mwanza.

Matthew has been involved with the charity to collect and deliver the donation of sports kits and has recently headed out to Tanzania from the Island with the latest donations from the Manx population.

Commenting on the assistance provided by Isle of Man Post Office, Matthew Aire said: "I would like to thank the Isle of Man Post Office enormously for their support in delivering the donations collected for 'Sports Charity Mwanza', Tanzania. The equipment, training gear and complete Isle of Man football kit has positively changed the lives of many young African children, improving their weekly training sessions and enabling the teams to play their first competitive football matches".

Isle of Man Post Office Sponsorship Committee Chairman, Sarah Read, said: "We were delighted to support Matthew in his efforts to help the children in Tanzania by sending them the much needed sports kits."
