Post Office Team Deliver Doorstop Cheer on Mothering Sunday

The team at Isle of Man Post Office (IOMPO) pulled out all the stops at the weekend to ensure mums across the Island received flowers in time for Mothering Sunday.

During the course of the weekend, IOMPO delivered in excess of 1,000 bouquets locally with the help of posties and non-operational staff all coming together to spread some doorstop cheer. IOMPO also dispatched a significant number of flowers bound for off-Island destinations.

Geoff Rickard, General Manager of Mails, said: “With the bad weather delaying sailings and creating a freight backlog last week, we knew that this last weekend would be a challenge but thanks to the hard work and dedication of colleagues across the business, all of the flowers we received either from the UK or locally were delivered over Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, the many flowers despatched from our Island to the UK arrived in time to connect with their scheduled deliveries. Sadly a very small number of boxed flowers have been received from the UK today (Monday) which we will make sure are delivered tomorrow (Tuesday).”
