Post Office to Seek Expressions of Interest for Postal Services in Onchan, Jurby & Foxdale

Isle of Man Post Office (IOMPO) is inviting expressions of interest from suitable businesses in Foxdale, Jurby and central Onchan to host postal services from their premises.

This forms part of IOMPO’s ongoing transition of its retail network, which aims to ensure postal services remain accessible, resilient, and sustainable, while continuing to meet the changing needs of customers and communities across the Island. A key element of this approach is working in partnership with local businesses to deliver services in convenient locations.

Across the Island, postal services are provided both directly by IOMPO and through partnerships with independent retailers. The current procurement exercise seeks to identify new partner businesses to continue delivering essential postal services in the locations identified.

Postal counter services typically include prepaid parcel handling, returns processing, online postage drop‑off services, and the sale of postage for letters and parcels for Isle of Man, UK and international destinations. These services are provided on a commission basis and are well suited to existing retail businesses looking to increase footfall and complement their current offer. While both staffed postal counters and self‑service kiosks will be considered, priority will be given to businesses able to provide a counter service.

Stu Peters MHK, Chairman of IOMPO said: “I would like to place on record our sincere thanks to the outgoing retailers who have acted as Sub Postmasters providing Post Office services to customers in their communities.”
