Postal Services in Port St Mary

Isle of Man Post Office (IOMPO) wishes to advise its customers that in light of the sub postmaster of Port St Mary Post Office giving notice of termination on his contract for postal services with effect from 29th October 2021, IOMPO issued a Request For Quotes (RFQ) exercise for the provision of a full suite of postal services in Port St Mary.

However IOMPO received no expressions of interest. Therefore, with effect from 1st November 2021, customers currently using Port St Mary Post Office will need to choose an alternative post office, the nearest post office being in Port Erin (1.2 miles away) located on Church Road, to transact their postal business and other associated services.

In an increasingly digital world, as customers increasingly choose digital alternatives to counter-based services, the migration of counter service users from Port St Mary will make Port Erin Post Office a stronger and more sustainable office for all customers, commercial partners and the sub postmaster.

Treasury’s Social Security Department will shortly write to MiCard customers currently collecting their benefits and pension in cash from Port St Mary Post Office, allowing them to change to an alternative post office.

The IOMPO Board appreciated the outgoing sub postmaster Jeff Calvert agreeing to extend his contract for services until the 29th October 2021, following his notice to terminate his contract in July 2020.
