This wonderful first day cover celebrates the 250th anniversary of the birth of William Wordsworth, one of the best-known romantic poets of all time. Wordsworth wrote and published a number of sonnets inspired by the Isle of Man during his visit in 1833, and extracts from them are featured on each of the six stamps which form the focal point of this cover.

The issue text is written by George Abbey who worked with NASA during the Apollo missions and was director of the Johnson Space Center during the NASA Shuttle - Mir Program.
