Rebecca House benefits from sales of Robin Gibb Special Folder

The folder was produced as part of the launch of the Robin Gibb-50 St Catherine's Drive stamp issue in April – a celebration of Robin's illustrious career as a singer, songwriter and one of the Isle of Man's most famous Manxmen.

The special folder comprises of the Robin Gibb – 50 St Catherine's Drive label stamp sheet alongside two unique items that you won't find anywhere else - a special format 50 St Catherine's Drive envelope containing a DVD incorporating never-before-seen Robin Gibb material. The disc brings together episodes of his career in relation to the Isle of Man including interviews in Thame before the first issue of Bee Gees stamps in 1999, a performance of Ellan Vannin at King William's College, his Freeman of Douglas visit, the opening of Rebecca House, coverage of a poignant postal tribute at 50 St Catherine's Drive itself and a truly unique photo gallery of images kindly shared by Robin's family. In addition, the lavish collector's folder also features a heart-warming tribute by renowned music writer David Leaf.

For every special folder sold, Robin's wife Dwina requested that £3 was donated to Rebecca House, the children's hospice on the Island which she and officially opened in 2008. Robin was born in the Isle of Man and was proud to call it his home despite also having lived in Manchester and Australia while growing up.

Accepting the cheque Mary Doyle, PR & Marketing Manager of Hospice Isle of Man said: "We are grateful to the Gibb family for their continual support of our children's hospice, Rebecca House and to Isle of Man Post Office for creating such a lovely product that will benefit the children. The folder is a beautiful testament to Robin Gibb and we appreciate this ongoing initiative."
