Nigel Godfrey Dean, Cathedral Isle of Man, this beautiful cover celebrates the 40th Anniversary of Cathedral Isle of Man and marks the 2020 Year of the Pilgrimage.
Gracing the front of the deluxe envelope is six stamps taken from 'The Story of the Nativity' collection and complemented with a breathtaking image of the stained glass window found within this iconic place of worship. Making this cover truly special is the addition of a £5 Peace coin, making this a unique tribute on this very special anniversary.
Your cover will come complete with a signed certificate of authenticity confirming the limited number of only 250.
‘It is good to have a stamp issue released on the 40th birthday of the Island’s Cathedral. The Cathedral was actually built a 100 years earlier to replace the ruined one on St Patrick’s Isle, but the driving force behind it - Bishop Rowley Hill died in office before the necessary legislation was passed by Tynwald, so it simply remained a parish church. The Cathedral as the ‘seat’ of the Bishop aims to offer the daily round of worship to God and serve the needs of our ever changing world.’
The Very Revd. Nigel Godfrey ,Dean, Cathedral Isle of Man
