EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST SOUGHT TO OFFER PARCEL COLLECTION IN CASTLETOWN

Date: Thursday 4th July 2019

Isle of Man Post Office (IOMPO) is looking for a suitable partner to provide a parcel collection facility on its behalf in Castletown.

The move comes after the current provider Castletown Post Office, operated by and housed in the Co-op store, gave notice that it wishes to cease the parcel collection offered to local residents due to space restrictions. Therefore, IOMPO is looking for expressions of interest from local businesses based in Castletown, who would be interested in offering a parcel collection service for customers who have not been in when delivery has been attempted at their home address. It is the intention to commence this new service in September.

A key element of IOMPO's Mails divisional strategy is to provide increased options for how and where customers can collect their parcels, in addition to customers collecting parcels when they were not at home to receive them. IOMPO will shortly commence a new Click and Collect trial, providing an opportunity for customers to choose a location convenient to them from where they would like to collect their parcels when ordering online. At present, this is not offered on the Island but would be a service provided at the new Castletown parcel collection venue on a trial basis.

Lisa Duckworth, Chief Operating Officer, IOMPO said: "We hope the expressions of interest advert will attract an existing business that is looking to increase its footfall, and generate a small amount of additional income. The service involves the receipt of items from IOMPO and the handover of items to our customers. Naturally there are stipulated requirements for any potential partner to adhere to, which can be viewed in detail on the Isle of Man Government procurement portal www.gov.im/categories/business-and-industries/expressions-of-interest/ "

She added: "All other services provided by Castletown Post Office will be unaffected as will the collection of parcels elsewhere in the south of the Island."

If you should require further information, please contact Linda Dunwell, Head of Procurement and Compliance of Isle of Man Post Office, by email linda.dunwell@iompost.com
Any responses to this opportunity must be returned by noon on Thursday 18th July 2019, electronic responses are acceptable and late responses will not be considered.
