The Isle of Man's first decimal coin set featuring HM King Charles III, Lord of Man (5pence - £5) celebrates the 50th anniversary of Manx Wildlife Trust. The institution was founded in 1973 and is the Island's leading nature conservation charity, aiming to protect and conserve the diverse fauna of the Island.
The coins each feature a different animal, insect, bird or marine creature along with their titles in English and Manx. The currency designs will be completed on the following denominations; Five Pence, Ten Pence, Twenty Pence, Fifty Pence, One Pound, Two Pounds and Five Pounds.

Known for its haunting call, the black and white coloured Manx Shearwater is a seabird which is part of a group of birds called ‘tubenoses’. Returning to land only at night and raising one chick per year, it is an amber listed species of conservation concern in the Isle of Man.

Lesser Mottled Grasshopper - Lheimmeyder-faiyr

The largest shark in Manx seas, reaching up to 12m in length, the Basking Shark survives on a diet of zooplankton which they filter out of the water, swimming slowly back and forth with their enormous mouths wide open. Five Pence- Manx Shearwater The five pence design depicts the Manx Shearwater, it is a medium-sized shearwater in the seabird family “procellaridae”, it is an amber-listed species of particular conservation concern on the Isle of Man.
Ten Pence- Manx Cat The Ten Pence design depicts the famous Isle of Man, Manx cat best known as being entirely tailless; this is the most distinguishing characteristic of the breed, along with elongated hind legs and a rounded head.
Twenty Pence - Viking Longship The Twenty Pence design depicts a typical scene of a sailing Viking Longship. The Isle of Man has a significant Viking heritage; key symbols are Odin’s Raven and Viking Longships.
Fifty Pence - Manx Loaghtan The design depicts the Manx Loaghtan, a breed of sheep native to the Isle of Man. The sheep have dark brown wool and usually four or occasionally six horns.
One Pound - Raven and Falcon The coat of arms of the Isle of Man was granted by Elizabeth II, Lord of Mann, on 12 July 1996. In the coat of arms we can find Dexter and Sinister heraldry symbols of a peregrine falcon and a raven.
Two pounds - Tower of Refuge This important landmark was built upon the reef on the orders of Sir William Hillary, founder of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution in 1832. After several shipwrecks upon the semi-submerged rock, he wanted a refuge for survivors until help could arrive.
